Quick vote: interesting

The plot according to me: A detective is on the case of a serial killer who is going after the members of a gang of drug dealers.

Vampiristics: Two vampiresses, with one or two questionables. Not a great deal of vampirical violence, but some nice atmosphere.

My opinion on the movie: I guess it's only fair to mention up front that I've never really been a big fan of this type of movie (drug world/investigation). It's not that I can't get into the movies, but would never really choose to watch them. However, throw in a vampire or two and I'll watch anything ;)

With that said, what did I think of this particular film? I thought it was pretty good. The first half was a straight investigation story, with a colorful supportnig cast and a few "unbelievable" flashbacks thrown in. In case you don't figure it out yourself, about halfway through the movie you are told outright that what the star is dealing with is a vampire. At this point, the investigation is more or less over, and it becomes more of a showdown.

While there really aren't any fangs or blood, there are still some very cool vampiric moments, dealing more with the immortality of vampires as well as psychic connections. My favorite scene being when the star and vampiress first meet (or rather, almost meet). It's a very simple scene, with no real effects, but I felt it was very effective for building up to the following moments when they actually do meet.

As with most low budget productions, the action and special effect scenes are a bit on the unrealistic side, but the acting is good for the most part, and the story draws you in enough where you can hopefully overlook the small flaws.

If you're looking for a more urban vampire movie or like crime stories then you will probably want to check this one out.
