My opinion on the movie: There is something unique about this movie. It has kind of a TV series feel to it. I don't say this because of the production value (though it does have a low budget quality) but more the direction and acting, for some reason, made me feel as if it was an ongoing television saga (and I mean this in a good way ;).
Speaking of the budget, like most independent films, the budget on this film most likely wasn't too high. This is most obvious during the action sequences where things begin to look pretty fake. This was slightly distracting, but the majority of the film looks good, and the cast is talented enough where you are not reminded of the monetary shortcomings through their performances.
All technical issues aside, this is a solid vampire movie with interesting characters and entertaining story. The movie reminded me of a cross between Vampire Journals and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (think Initiative) and I'd recommend any vampire movie fan to give it a try.

My opinion on the disc: To be honest, this was a DVD-R promo copy that I was given to review. I know MTI Video will be releasing a normal DVD of this, so I will reserve my opinion on the transfer until the final product is released.
The behind the scenes feature that was included was more of a series of segments with the major people behind the movie talking. It was interesting though. They explain how the special effects were done and showed some very basic examples. Definitely worth a quick look if you enjoy the movie.
