The plot according to me: A punk band becomes stranded just outside the residence of a withering vampiress who is looking for fresh blood to become young again.
Vampiristics: A vampiress and a man who is arguably a vampire (though does nothing on screen to support this). A very nice blood bath scene.
Vampire Pictures
My opinion on the movie: This movie was not a masterpiece in the least, but it was entertaining anyway. It started out in a very b-movie fashion, with bad acting, a predictable story-line, and a few bizarre moments that can only confuse. After the plot began to take shape things smoothed out and it became much more entertaining. The plot was still very predictable mind you, but it was fun to watch. Unfortunately the movie ends in a very anti-climatical way.
The highlight of this movie is by far the extended sex scene of the countess which turns into a really cool blood bath. It's a very powerful visual that fans of erotic horror will love. Other scenes of note during Erotic Vampire Month is a sex scene in the van that lasts all night (more is heard then seen though) and a totally naked woman running for her life through the woods.
I would not suggest this movie to everyone, but it does have it's place, and fans of erotic vampires will probably not regret watching it.
Disc essentials:
Video: 1.85:1
Audio: Stereo
Language: Spanish, English
Subtitles: English
Special features: interviews, music videos, small commentary
My opinion on the disc: The video is a little dark, and a little imperfect, but watch able. No problem with the sound (listened to Spanish sound track)
This disc had a unique way of doing a commentary. Instead of trying to fill up the entire movie, they selected a bunch of scenes and did the commentary just to those (about 20 minutes worth). The commentary itself is in interview format with The Killer Barbies. It was kind of entertaining, gave a little insight into the production, but not really anything special.
The interview was with The Killer Barbies, mostly about the band and their music, with only a little of it pertaining to the movie. It was nice to have since the movie revolves around the band, it lets you get to know them a little.
Finally, the music videos. They are low budget, but fun. You will probably recognize the song "Down Town", yes, it's the song you think it is ;) What you probably don't know is female fronted rock bands is a big weakness of mine, so this is kind of a treat for me. My opinion on the band now that I've heard them? Kind of an average punk band, leaning towards the pop side of the spectrum. Fun to listen to, nothing to obsess over.
