My opinion on the movie: Yes, here's another version of the story of Dracula. To be fair, it was one of the earlier ones, and one of the more popular. This movie started a whole franchise of Hammer Dracula movies, not to mention Christopher Lee's biggest role (yes, bigger then the trilogies I say ;) So how does this match up as far as Dracula films go. Well, first off, while the basic story is there, the details have been changed making for a refreshing viewing. It also contains the atmosphere that Hammer was famous for. There was no "Brides of Dracula" scene, which is a little disappointing (not to mention surprising since Hammer had become known for their women), and there was no Renfield which again is a disappointment.
It's not my favorite telling of the story, but it is entertaining, and should probably be watched if for nothing else then to prepare for watching other movies in the series.

My opinion on the disc: For the most part the picture and sound was good. There were a few minor glitches in the picture, but not many and only for a split second.
