front Title: Two Orphan Vampires (aka Les Deux Orphelines Vampires)
Tagline: none
Rating: Not Rated
Running time: 103 minutes
Writer: Jean Rollin
Director: Jean Rollin
Producer:
Stars: Alexandra Pic (Louise), Isabelle Teboul (Henriette)
Sub-genre: Adventure
Quick vote: not horrible

The plot according to me: Two vampiresses have some fun.

Vampiristics: Two main vampiresses, and a minor vampriess. Blind during the day, color blind at night. Blood and (questionable) immortality are the only thing they have in common with the average vampire. A few decent vampiric scenes..

Vampire Pictures
Henriette, one of the vampire orphans. Louise, one of the vampire orphans.
La Femme Chauve Sourie, a mysterious vampiress that help the two orphans.

My opinion on the movie: In a way this was a typical Jean Rollin movie. It had unusual characters, put the plot behind the atmosphere, and had a tragic ending. There was a very low amount of sex and nudity got a Rollin film, though there is some. I was a bit disappointed with the locations. Usually you can expect some really beautiful landscape shots and stuff in Jean Rollin films, but this one took place mainly in the city (on location in both New York and Paris) and while there are some nice shots here and there, I'm not as big a fan of city scenery as open areas. Overall it's a unique movie. You'll probably find it boring if you're not used to the Rollin style, and even if you are you'll probably have to be in the mood for this one. This film is for Rollin fans only.

back Disc essentials:

Video: 1.78:1, enhanced for 16x9 TVs
Audio: Stereo
Language: English, French
Subtitles: English

Special features: interviews with Jean Rollin, Alexandra Pic, and Isabelle Teboul, soundtrack tracks.

My opinion on the disc: The picture seemed really dark and grainy. The movie is still watch-able, and it could be how the original prints were since it is a low budget film. I didn't have a problem with the sound

The interviews had both a French with subtitles portion and an English portion (except for Isabelle Teboul who only had a French portion). The interviews were interesting. Rollin talked about his vampire films in general, and this film in particular. The two women talked about how they got the roles, and what they thought of Rollin's films.
